The sculpture was inspired by my love of Christmas.  The Santas are all unique, each with their own expression and attitude. This Santa has a cream hat which is embellishes with berries and black leaves. The surface deoration mimics embroidery.  Made from stoneware ceramics, it is formed entirely by hand. Surface decoration is done with underglazes, carving, sgraffito and mishima. 
 
Santa  measures approximately 12"x 4" (30  x 10cm).
